When asked about the features they couldn’t live without, Cherie responded, “All of it, really. The system is easy to navigate and use.”

Jamie’s Tyre & Auto has been a trusted name in the Canterbury region for over 20 years, with Jamie leading the charge as business owner and head mechanic. A lifelong lover of cars, Jamie started the business to follow his passion for all things automotive. Working alongside him is Jason, another full-time mechanic, and Cherie, the workshop’s administrator.

We spoke with Cherie, who has been with the company for 12 years managing all administrative tasks, including invoicing and tax, to see how she’s getting on a few months after moving to Auxo Workshop.

Like many others, they were running their workshop off Xero and a paper diary. While it seemed to work well enough, they were curious about the benefits of switching to a dedicated workshop management system.

Cherie still uses Xero to manage the accounts because, in her words, “I like my Xero a certain way.” However, maintaining a customer database solely on Xero and a paper diary was challenging. With no ability to efficiently send reminders for important services like WoFs and vehicle maintenance, it was difficult to get customers back for more, resulting in missed revenue opportunities.

Cherie first learned about Auxo Workshop when she was helping another mechanic shop that used SAM (another product in the Auxo family). Impressed by the software’s capabilities, she decided to give Auxo Workshop a try.

While there were other options available, Auxo Workshop’s cloud-based platform was particularly appealing because Cherie often worked from home. “[Auxo Workshop] being web-based was perfect for my setup,” she explained.

And as for the transition to Auxo Workshop? Cherie gives the seamless onboarding process a solid 10 out of 10. “Wesley has been an awesome support,” she noted, referring to one of Auxo’s dedicated customer success team members. The software’s ease of use and great customer support made the transition smooth for everyone involved.

Since implementing Auxo Workshop, Jamie’s Tyre & Auto has seen significant improvements. Cherie said, “We now have a way better customer database.” This, in turn, has helped improve overall customer retention, as the system makes it easier to remind clients about upcoming services. The online booking system has also started driving additional business, allowing customers to schedule their own appointments, even outside of business hours.

When asked about the features they couldn’t live without, Cherie responded, “All of it, really. The system is easy to navigate and use.”

While they still rely on Xero for accounting, Cherie and Jamie have noticed improvements in workflow and customer experience. Cherie explained that the workshop feels more organised, and the professional, customer-friendly invoices give the business a more polished look.

Cherie confirmed that Auxo Workshop has brought more jobs into the workshop and even helped reduce stress. While still very hands-on with invoicing, the system’s automation has freed up some of her time, offering a better work-life balance.

Cherie has also been involved in providing Auxo’s customer success and product teams with invaluable feedback, joining our Auxo Workshop Ambassadors group to make the system even better as part of our ongoing commitment to improvement. She’s confident that Auxo Workshop is almost perfect – and would recommend that other workshops give it a go too.
