Meet KJ, our Product Owner for SAM & Orion, who’s been with us for around 4 years now. If you’ve ever submitted a ticket on a bug or requested a new feature or enhancement, there’s a high chance KJ was the one sorting through your feedback and pulling the strings to make it happen.
KJ’s typical day begins by reviewing development tickets, including any bugs, change requests, or enhancement requests from our customers. He then prioritizes these tickets for upcoming releases and helps coordinate all the moving parts for release day. KJ always tries his best to make sure that all customer’s issues or new feature requests are addressed as soon as possible – a very complicated beast to keep on top of!
When we asked KJ what project he’s most proud of, he said it’s hard to pick; almost every release comes with its own set of challenges to overcome, and each one gives him a feeling of satisfaction when the release is rolled out to customers. Most recently, KJ was proud of the webWorkshop release that went live in January, filled with enhancements and fixes to address diary issues and improve the workflow for adding parts to a job.
Outside of work KJ mostly looks forward to spending time with family and friends. In the summertime, he’s partial to a good outdoor BBQ, or playing a round of golf on one of his favourite courses in Muriwai or Huapai. He’s also got a few scenic golf trips in mind for the future, including Cape Kidnappers and Jack’s Point. In winter, KJ opts for something indoors, like visiting one of his favourite restaurants or watching a good action thriller. The Bourne franchise and The Terminal List are some of his all-time favourites!
As is customary, we had to ask KJ what his dream car would be, which he said was Mercedes Benz G63 AMG – in black of course. Perfect for rolling up to Sunday golf in grace and style.
