Privacy Policy

The purpose of this privacy policy is to let users of auxosoftware.com (the “site”), including any products or service made available through the site, know when we collect personal information and what we do with it. 

“Auxo Software”, “we”, “us”, and “our” refers to Australian Automotive Business Solutions Ltd and its subsidiary companies Systime Automotive Solutions Ltd and SAM Computers Ltd.

We comply with the Privacy Act 2020 (the “Act”) when dealing with personal information (as defined below).  

Changes to this policy

We may change this policy by uploading a revised policy onto the site. The change will apply from the date that we upload the revised policy.

Information we collect

You can explore our website without providing any personal information. Collection of personal information will only take place as set out below.

“Personal information”
This refers to information that identifies you personally, including contact information, such as your name, email address, company name, and other information about yourself or your business that enables us to respond to your contact request or provide our site and services to you. ‘Personal information’ may also include information about you that is publicly available on the internet and social networks, or that we collect from third parties where you have authorised this.

We may collect personal information as follows:

  • When you fill in a contact or enquiry form on our site, call us, meet us in person or otherwise contact us, we collect your name, email address, phone number and any other information you choose to provide to us.
  • When you sign up to our newsletter and other electronic alerts, we collect your name, email address, phone number, user preferences any other information you provide to us when you ask to receive our newsletter or other alerts.
  • When you respond to our feedback surveys, we collect your name, email address, date of birth, demographic information and any other information you choose to include in your response.
  • When you purchase products or services from us, we collect your name, email address, phone number, credit card information, purchase history and any other information you submit to us for billing and order fulfilment purposes.
  • When you register for, or your employer registers you for, or you login to, an account on our site or related services, we collect your name, email address, user name, password, phone number, demographic information, date of birth, address, location and any other information we require or ask for to set you up with an account.

Some of the personal information that we collect may be mandatory and some may be optional.  While you do not have to provide us with some of the information that we may request, this might mean that our site and services may not perform as well as they should, or that we may not be able to provide some parts of the site or all of our products or services to you.  If you require further information about the consequences of not providing us with any information, please contact us at info@auxosoftware.com.

We use a third party service provider to process credit card transactions.  We do not have access to your credit card information.  The name of this third party provider will generally be displayed when you are requested to enter your credit card information.  You can see further information about how they process your credit card information in their privacy policy.

 “Navigational information”
This refers to information we have on how you visit this website and use products and services available through this website – such as your IP address, geographical location, browser type, referral source, length of visit and pages viewed. When you arrive on the site, we will ask for your permission to gather this information. For more information see “Cookies” below. 

What we do with the information

We collect information for the following purposes:

  • to verify your identity
  • to provide you with the products and services of Auxo Software
  • to improve the products and services we provide to you by tailoring them to your needs
  • to respond to communications from you, including your requests for information or complaints
  • to carry out marketing, promotional and publicity activities, including contacting you electronically (e.g. by text or email for this purpose)
  • to show you more relevant advertising based on the information you have provided
  • to bill you and to collect money that you owe us, including authorising and processing credit card transactions
  • to generally improve our products and services and to conduct research and statistical analysis (on an anonymised basis)
  • to protect and/or enforce our legal rights and interests, including defending any claim, or
  • for any other purpose authorised by you or the Act.

Whenever possible, we only analyse your personal data in aggregate form (identifiable characteristics removed so that you will remain anonymous). We will immediately remove you from our marketing list if requested.

How we store the information

We will take reasonable steps to keep your personal information safe from loss, unauthorised activity, or other misuse. If you submit personal information that information will be sent to the appropriate Auxo Software staff member to action your request. We keep the personal information we hold safe by storing it in encrypted files, and only allowing relevant staff to access it.

Disclosing your personal information

We may disclose your personal information to: 

  • another company within our group
  • our business partners in order to help with your request (e.g. if you asked about a third-party provider integrated to our software)
  • any other business that supports our products and services, including any person that hosts or maintains any underlying IT system or data centre that we use to provide the site or our products and services
  • other third parties (for anonymised statistical information)
  • a person who can require us to supply your personal information (e.g. a regulatory authority)
  • any other person authorised by the Act or another law (e.g. a law enforcement agency)
  • any other person authorised by you.

A business that supports our site, products and services may be located outside New Zealand.  This may mean your personal information is held and processed outside New Zealand.

We may transfer your information in the case of a sale, merger, consolidation, liquidation, reorganisation or acquisition.

Internet use

While we take reasonable steps to maintain secure internet connections, if you provide us with personal information over the internet, the provision of that information is at your own risk.

If you follow a link on our site to another site, the owner of that site will have its own privacy policy relating to your personal information.  We suggest you review that site’s privacy policy before you provide personal information.

Cookies

This site generates persistent session cookies (that is, they have an expiry date and are removed on that date) for the purpose of monitoring site usage. The cookies don’t collect personal information. You can disable them or clear them out of your web browser without affecting your ability to use the site.

Your rights

Under the Act, you have the right to access and ask us to correct any of your personal information provided to Auxo Software in connection with your use of this site. Before you exercise this right, we will need evidence to confirm that you are the individual to whom the personal information relates.

In respect of a request for correction, if we think the correction is reasonable and we are reasonably able to change the personal information, we will make the correction.  If we do not make the correction, we will take reasonable steps to note on the personal information that you requested the correction.
